Retry Correct Incorrect After all Native Americans were ordered onto reservations in 1876, Sitting Bull was one of the political and spiritual leaders who resisted. After the 2,000 Sioux warriors under his command defeated General Custer’s forces, he fled to Canada for several years only to be arrested upon return to the Dakota region. However, he was able to join Buffalo Bill Cody’s famous Wild West Show after meeting and befriending Annie Oakley.
